The master program “Biochemistry and Molecular Biology” is embedded in the profile field “Molecular Biosciences” of the University of Bayreuth. Successful Master’s graduates have the opportunity to pursue their doctoral studies in the PhD program “Molecular Biosciences” of the Bayreuth Graduate School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (BayNAT). There is also the option of fast-track access to doctoral studies. Particularly qualified students will have the opportunity to take part in the elite study program “Macromolecular Science” parallel to their master’s and doctoral studies.

Requirements:-

  • Graduates of the Bachelor’s degree programs in Biochemistry or Biology (Department of Molecular and Cell Biology) of the University of Bayreuth, who have completed at least a grade of “good” (2.5 or better), are eligible for the degree program and will be admitted without further requirements ,
  • External graduates of study programs who are technically equivalent to the Bachelor’s degree programs in Biochemistry or Biology (specialization in Molecular and Cell Biology) at the University of Bayreuth will also be admitted if the Bachelor’s degree has been awarded at least the grade “good”.
  • Graduates who have not completed the bachelor’s degree programs in Biochemistry or Biology (Department of Molecular and Cell Biology) at the University of Bayreuth, or equivalent subject programs, or who have not achieved a grade of “good” can apply for a suitability procedure . This qualification procedure is regulated in the Study and Examination Regulations.
