Requirements:-

In addition to meeting the general entrance requirements for admission to Selkirk College, applicants must meet the following Post-Graduate Diploma in Culinary Management requirements.

  • Completion of a 2-year culinary diploma or professional cooking certification. Or,
  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management with significant course work in Culinary Arts. The culinary courses must include both a practical as well as a theory component.
  • Students with a degree in a different field and who possess a shorter credential in the culinary field (one year minimum) will be considered for admission on a case by case basis.
  • Submission of scanned, notarized transcripts for post-secondary studies.
  • Students from most countries where English is not the official language are required to submit official English language test results.
  • IELTS 6.5 overall band score, or equivalent on other internationally recognized English Language Proficiency Tests.  Applicants with 6.0 IELTS overall, with no band score less than 5.5, may be admitted to the program but may be required to take an English upgrading course during the first year of study.

Requirements:-

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
• Grade 12 ENG4C
• Grade 11 Foundations for College Math (C) MBF3C
• Grade 11 Biology (C) SBI3C
• Grade 12 Chemistry (C) SCH4C or Grade 11 Chemistry (U) SCH3U
Or mature student status. Mature students must still meet all program prerequisites in the sciences.
This program has more applications than seats available. Applications will be ranked based on the average
of the required courses. Beginning in September 2015 an average of 65% in the required courses will be
required for applications to be considered.
Personal Support Worker is no longer a direct entry into the Practical Nursing Program.
Personal Support Worker graduates would still require:
• Grade 12 Chemistry (C) SCH4C or Grade 11 Chemistry (U) SCH3U, and
• Grade 11 Foundations for College Math (C) MBF3C
Successful completion of both PSW108 and PSW118, however, will be accepted for Grade 11 Biology (C)
SBI3C.

Fisheries and Aquaculture has long been an area of specialization at Vancouver Island University. VIU has an international reputation in fisheries and aquaculture applied research, technology transfer, training, and education. VIU boasts an extensive array of facilities and equipment: three cool-water hatchery complexes; a warm-water hatchery; salt-water system; fish disease laboratory; lake study field station; oyster farm; sturgeon, trout, and wild and cultured salmon research programs. The proximity of VIU to fresh-water lakes and streams, as well as to the ocean and estuaries, allows fieldwork in these habitats to be a central part of students’ education

Requirements:-

  • English 12 with a minimum grade of “C.”
  • Biology 11, Chemistry 12, and Principles of Physics 11, all with a minimum grade of “C+”.
  • One of Principles of Mathematics 12 or Pre-calculus 12 with a minimum grade of “B”.
  • Biology 12 and Physics 12 are recommended but not required.
  • Some seats are available for students who have completed Chemistry 11 with a “C+” but have not completed Chemistry 12.
