The students are expected to submit an innovative research proposal related to the research field.
Doctoral students of Hector Fellow Academy get 15,000 € for material expenses per year.

The applicants for Ph.D. Fellowship At Hector Fellow Academy, 2018 should submit a proposal of their Ph.D. project in 3,000 to 6,000 characters with an abstract of 1,500 characters including spaces.

This engineering programme trains students in research, design and the development of innovative products and processes that will benefit the healthcare sector. You will develop medical innovations that really contribute to better care. This dynamic, interdisciplinary field combines engineering and natural and life sciences, such as biology, nanotechnology, physics, electrical engineering, chemistry and mechanical engineeringThe role of technology in healthcare is gaining importance. Therefore there is a growing need for engineers with broad technical knowledge, insight into the workings of the human body and creative ideas. During this programme you will be trained to be such an engineer. You will be taught to research, design and develop technology for healthcare. You will use and develop technology to realize new and original applications. Biomedical Engineering is an interdisciplinary field, combining engineering with the natural and life sciences.

The programme is closely associated with the MIRA Institute for Biomedical Technology and Technical Medicine. MIRA ranks among the top five bioengineering departments worldwide. The researchers at MIRA will be responsible for your training.

The programme focuses on three key areas: Imaging & Diagnostics, which is all about techniques for visualizing and interpreting the processes in cells and bodies based on radiation, acoustics, photo-acoustics, ultrasound, and magnetism; Bionanotechnology & Advanced Biomanufacturing, which centres on the development of technologies that restore function to diseased and damaged organs and tissues, such as bone and blood vessels; and Neural & Motor Systems, which focuses on the restoration of nervous and motor system function.

Requirements

A graduate of university studies of pharmacy (or some related fields such as medicine or natural sciences) who has acquired Magister (Mgr.) or Master (MS) degree or its equivalent can apply for the admission to the four-year internal postgraduate doctoral studies.
- Either Czech Embassy or Ministry of Education of the country you studied in can officially make the documents valid.
- (Do not provide originals but copies officially verified by a solicitor, barrister or notary – verification by school principals is not acceptable!)

Understanding how and why we age are fundamental biological questions with great medical and societal impact. To address these questions, The Programme train a new generation of biomedical scientists to unravel the basic molecular mechanisms underlying ageing and age-related diseases.

Programmes interdisciplinary approach integrates the fields of genetics, cell biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, systems biology and translational medicine. The CGA provides a strong research environment and a cutting-edge training programme to meet this challenge.

The Programme offer young scientists of exceptional talent a structured PhD training in biomedical disciplines within an international environment. Principle investigators are internationally recognized scientists carrying out ground-breaking research, covering a broad range of expertise. New facilities with state-of-the-art technologies provide excellent infrastructure for training and research. The doctoral programme is comprised of seminars and courses in ageing research, writing and presentation training as well as practical career development opportunities.
