Fisheries and Aquaculture has long been an area of specialization at Vancouver Island University. VIU has an international reputation in fisheries and aquaculture applied research, technology transfer, training, and education. VIU boasts an extensive array of facilities and equipment: three cool-water hatchery complexes; a warm-water hatchery; salt-water system; fish disease laboratory; lake study field station; oyster farm; sturgeon, trout, and wild and cultured salmon research programs. The proximity of VIU to fresh-water lakes and streams, as well as to the ocean and estuaries, allows fieldwork in these habitats to be a central part of students’ education

  • Biology 11, Chemistry 12, and Principles of Physics 11, all with a minimum grade of “C+”.

Medical Neuroscience” is one of the five Research Clusters at the Medical University of
Vienna. It is the explicit goal of this call to integrate 16 outstanding researchers working in the
field of neuroscience in many different institutes / departments / clinics in this program. The research focus of the project of this call are all aimed at elucidating crucial molecular
mechanisms of nervous system function in health and disease, with the long term goal to
develop novel therapeutic strategies. The research projects (as described in:
https://www.meduniwien.ac.at/hp/phd-neuroscience/), are at various stages of this endeavour;
some are at the stage of basic research to first understand the functional complexity in health,
while other projects already directly target possible treatment strategies. The translational
nature of the program is reflected manifold as for example including discussion of patents in
the Journal Clubs.

Requirements:-

In order to be eligible to enrol in the MedUniv Vienna PhD program “Medical Neuroscience” all
candidates are required to have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in medicine, biology,
chemistry, bioinformatics, mathematics or any scientific/technical, subject-relevant degree.
Candidates applying with a Bachelor’s degree must have completed a four-year course and
are required to demonstrate that they have acquired a significant amount of research
experience. You have to document that your degree formally qualifies to enter a PhD or
equivalent programme in the country where you have obtained your degree.
Candidates do not need to have completed their degree at the time of application; however,
they must obtain their final degree certificate by the end of July 2018.
The working language at Neuroscience PhD-programme is English, so excellent written and
oral communication skills in English are required.

The University of Hertfordshire Graduate Scholarship is now available for all UK/EU and International students. This scholarship is available to self-funded University of Hertfordshire graduates (UK/EU and international) for their first full year of full-time or all years of part-time postgraduate or doctoral study at the University.

The University is the UK’s leading business-facing university and an exemplar in the sector. The university main objective of the university is to provide high quality, comprehensive educational and training opportunities that are compatible with changing needs of the students.

The normal entry requirements are that applicants must have completed their degree. IELTS score should be 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in any band).

  • Application Deadline: Scholarship is open for the year 2018.
  • Course Level: Scholarships are available to pursue graduate programme.
  • Study Subject: The Graduate Scholarship is available for a range of postgraduate taught programmes offered by the University. These include Masters Awards, those at Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma level (but excluding the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), the Certificate in Professional Studies, some vocational or professional practice certificates and short courses). It is not available for MSc Global Business.

The New Zealand Aid Programme offers several different types of scholarship.  There are four types of scholarships for full-time tertiary level study in New Zealand:

  • • New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarships

Levels/Fields of study:

Depending on the country you are from, New Zealand Scholarships are available for the following level of studies: Postgraduate Certificate (6 months), Postgraduate Diploma (1 year), Masters Degree (1 – 2 years) or PhD (up to 3.5 years).

Preferred fields of study are those that are most relevant to the development needs of your country (i.e. renewable energy, agriculture development, disaster risk management, private sector development, public sector development).  Find out the preferred subjects for your country.

Requirements:-

Be a minimum of 18 years of age at the time of commencing your scholarship.

• Be a citizen of the country from which you are applying for a scholarship and have resided in that country for at least the last two years.

• Not a citizen or permanent resident of any the following countries: New Zealand, Australia, Israel, South Korea, Japan, USA, any European Union country, Qatar, United Kingdom, Canada, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. (Note: This criteria does not apply to people from Niue, Cook Islands, Tokelau who are New Zealand citizens, and it also does not apply to NZ-Samoan dual citizens.)

• Meet the Immigration requirements for a student visa to New Zealand or the Pacific country you will study in (i.e. medical checks, etc.).

• Meet the academic entry requirements (including English language ability) for your preferred programme of study and institution. Refer to the website of your preferred institution to confirm entry requirements.

• Have at least one year full time (two-year’s part time) work experience relevant to your career and/or preferred qualification unless you are applying straight from school or during my first year of tertiary study (for countries offered undergraduate study).

• Intend to return to your home country for a minimum of two years on completion of the scholarship.
